[em] well a lot has happened in a small amount of time, and it is crazy to think that we have went from a family of just the two of us to THREE!
My coworkers threw me a shower! Here's a picture of a little side-decoration the baker took it upon himself (or herself) to put on the cake. The coworker who ordered the cake asked specifically for several flowers....and ended up with this little creature on the cake. Not edible, but lots of fun to look at.
We attended an all-day-cram-session- childbirth class this past Saturday.
Here are pictures of Eric wearing an "Empathy Belly". He strapped on (somewhat unwillingly*) 35 lbs of simulated baby weight gain.
*This was a "voluntary" exercise, which Fio made Eric volunteer for.
They tightened his chest, gave him heavy boobs, slapped on the requisite belly weight, added an additional weighted pouch to sit right on top of his bladder and threw in two iron balls to press against his ribcage for good measure. These are pictures of him right after they strapped on the belly....very happy, even giddy you might say.
30 minutes later (not even!), he requested to be "delivered". During his pregnancy they did also drop things on the floor for Eric to pick up.
Picture One: Eric in all his full-glory...prego shirtless self - so modest
Picture Two: Competing bellies. Eric full-term (37 weeks) at 35lbs. and Fio - 32 weeks at 29lbs of weight gain. "Yahoo, Mountain Dew!" as my former boss would say.
Her tree is a stunner. Really bushy and perfectly lit with bows and ornaments galore. Legend has it there's a little bird caught inside the tree somewhere. I kid you not. We have heard it with our own ears!
Below is our homemade tree....a might puny compared to Mom's, but we love it. Dad and Eric made it last year and we finished it this year. It's made of copper coil and garland, suspended from our ceiling. We still are in the hunt for a sparkly, special something to top the tree!
Eric has never been and it was quite an experience! We caught two shows, Penn & Teller (there's Penn on the top left) and Ka by Cirque de Soleil...and also ate our hearts out at a delicious Bellagio brunch buffet, a pretty good Paris Breakfast buffet and a delicious lunch at Spago. We walked all this off of course.
Our good friend from high school, Elisa, was gracious enough to let us crash with her our first night in Vegas and treated us to several home-cooked meals. YUMMY. There's Elisa in the middle picture taking us golfing on an executive course. Per Elisa, weather was "awesome". (Elisa, a Vegas resident for 2+ years now, thinks weather in the 80's and a blazing sun is nice...now that's just crazy talk. The desert has been messing with her. Remember your roots, Elisa!!) The rest of the time we got to stay at Caesar's Palace. Interesting factoid: They have TV's in their bathroom mirrors at Caesar's...hadn't seen that in real life before, just on HGTV. (Much like this: Mirror TV)
We also met up with Chris, Tanya, and little Ava with their cool Bugaboo stroller. Little Ava is SO precious!! Will post picture to update this entry later.
The other picture is of us in Caesar's with the Caesar's people...centurions, cleopatra and such. Ahh, the famed Bellagio Fountains. We felt like Ocean's Eleven.
